Our Mission:

Cultivating Prosperity, Nurturing Communities

At Zanna Farms, we believe in the power of agriculture to transform lives and protect communities. Our mission is twofold: to combat climate change and to alleviate poverty among women and youth through innovative and sustainable fruit farming practices. We partner with farmers to create a greener, more prosperous future for all.

Empowering Women and Youth

Empowering Women and Youth

We recognize that women and youth are often the most vulnerable to poverty. By providing them with the tools, training, and support needed for successful fruit farming, we aim to create economic opportunities and empower these communities. Our programs focus on:

Training on Seed choices and management: Offering workshops and resources on modern, sustainable seed management techniques.

Seedling support: Providing farmers high-quality fruit-tree seedlings of diverse range of resilient and productive varieties.

Mentorship Programs: Guiding farmers from our experience over the years and connecting other experienced farmers with aspiring entrepreneurs for guidance and support.

Fighting Climate Change

Fighting Climate Change

Fruit farming, when done sustainably, can play a significant role in mitigating climate change. Our strategies include:

Organic Farming: Reducing the reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, promoting natural growth cycles, and preserving ecosystems.

Water Conservation: Implementing efficient irrigation techniques to conserve water resources.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Community Collaboration:

We work closely with local communities to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.

Sustainable Practices:

Emphasizing environmentally friendly farming methods that boost productivity while protecting natural resources.

Market Access through Value Addition:

Ensuring our partner farmers have a reliable and profitable avenue for selling their produce by actively purchasing their fruits for value addition. By processing and packaging these fruits, we create high-quality products that fetch premium prices in the market. This approach not only guarantees farmers a stable income but also adds value to their produce, boosting their profitability and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Meet Our CEO

Stephen is a Certified Public Accountant in Kenya and a bachelor of Commerce – Finance degree holder from the Kenyatta University.

Stephen was employed by one of the leading international audit firms in Kenya where he worked for 5 years across different nations in Africa including South Africa, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

After 5 years of career progression at the international firm, at 29 years of age and at a time where his career was climaxing, he made a bold decision to resign from his job and drove to his home, in the village, Makueni, a dry, semi-arid area known for lack of food and water, to be farmer.

Steve founded Zanna Farms and says he was driven by the fulfillment of being a source of hope to the community and an inspiration to his fellow young generation. He was inspired into agriculture from a trip that he had done to Israel. He currently uses solar power to pump water for irrigation. He produces passion fruits, watermelons, oranges, pawpaw, mangoes, tomatoes and onions and sells in bulk to different markets and companies across the nation.

He is Steve the farmer on social media (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) where he uses the platforms to educate and inspire his fellow youth.

Steve has featured on several programs on national television, lately being Smart farm on Citizen Tv. Watch here.
